It was awesome speaking with Josh Feldman, and an honor to get the chance to tell the story of his patient experience. Really, he’s chock full of stories, and there were too many interesting things about him to fit into one article.
For instance, I made sure to highlight his love of surfing. But I didn’t have the room to talk about how he took up that avocation in his 40s. At first, he didn’t realize that some of the other people catching waves out there in Malibu were actually professional surfers. Before long, he was holding his own alongside them.
I’m glad that we got to connect the dots between Josh’s enthusiasm for new technologies—for trying new things in general—and his participation in an important clinical trial. I hope I can emulate his intrepid spirit in my own life, at least a little bit.
